Tournament system
Every tournament is divided into rounds. Number of rounds depends on how much players are allowed to join tournament. For 2 players it's only 1 round, for 4 players it's 2 rounds, etc.
In every round players plays duels. In duel two players gets same puzzle and who solves it in shorter time (that means time from start to end of sudoku game itself + penalties) wins. Other one, who loose that duel, ends in tournament.
When you return your result first, next round will start after other player in your duel will return result, or after deadline for that round.
Deadline for every round in tournament is counted from start of tournament. Tournament starts when all players of this tournament joins it. Deadline for first round is 2 days from start of tournament, deadline for every next round is plus another day (eg. deadline of round 2 is 3 days from start of tournament, deadline for round 3 is 4 days from start of tournament etc.).
We recommend to visit iPhonus Sudoku Tournament system at least once a day. Better is twice. Then you can not miss any deadline.
Starting your tournament
Our system allows creation of your own tournament. There are few rules and recommendations for it.
- Please do not start tournaments without name
- Please do not enter any links. If you want to use link to your website, contact us and send us link you want to use. We will allow or deny it's use. If you break this rule, your account may be suspended.
- When you start password-protected tournament you have to send password to players who will participate in this tournament. We may remove password-protected tournaments which will not start in reasonable time.
- If you want to start tournament and not sure if it meets all rules, or if you want to promote your website, or have special needs, then contact us.
iPhonus Sudoku Rating
iPhonus Sudoku Rating is player rating system.
It is based on ELO rating (used e.g. for chess rating). It is calculated after every duel, for win you get points, for loose you loose points. Average player (and number with which every player starts) is 1500. If you have more, you are better than most people.
In beginning values are not so correct. To have correct values it's needed to play more duels. With more played duels you get rating which shows your real power in sudoku.
Sponsored tournaments
It's possible to start sponsored tournament, which will have status of official tournament.
Besides all standard features of basic user tournaments it's possible to use all forbidden things like links to your website and also content of tournament detail will contain all informations you want. It may be also dynamic.
Your tournament will be published in our news, in our RSS channel and information about it will be sent with tournament notifications.
Price of this service depends on many factors and is individual. It depends on how much players in tournament you want, if you want to offer prize for winner or if you can offer something valuable for us. Basic rate is $10 for tournament with 128 players, $20 for tournament with 256 players. For this price you will get this number of players who will visit website you want and also many other players will see your name in list of results of official tournaments, in our news, in tournament notifications ... Ask for more information.
